God is at least 10 things. The nature of God comes through in His Word. How many of you remember the ten areas of Divine Essence? It is easy to remember these areas from the first letters in this arraged statement:
Stop and
Remember
Jesus’
Love, so that
Every
Obstacle becomes an
Opportunity for you to press
On
In
Victory.
If you remember that. You’ve got it. He doesn’t just have these 10 things. He is these 10 things:
- He is Sovereign. His will is above every will. Psalms 103:19, “The Lord has established His throne in heaven, and His kingdom rules over all.”
- He is absolute Righteousness. Romans 1:17, “For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from face to face, as it is written, ‘the just shall live by faith.’”
- God is Justice; He is perfectly Just. Isaiah 30:18, “Therefore the Lord will wait that he may be gracious to you. And therefore He will be exalted that He may have mercy on you. For the Lord is a God of Justice. Blessed are all those who wait for Him.”
- He is Love. 1st John 4:8, “He who does not love does not know God. For God is Love.”
- And He is Eternal Life. John 11:25, “Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me, though he may die, he shall live.”
- He is Omniscient. He knows all things. “Omni” means all. Psalms 139:1-4, “O Lord, you have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up. You understand my thoughts afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down and acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue. But behold, O Lord, you know it all together.”
- He is Omnipresent. He is all places. Psalms 139:7-10, “Where can I go from Your spirit? O where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there. If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even though Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me.”
- He is Omnipotent — all powerful. Luke 1:37, “For with God nothing will be impossible.”
- He is Immutable, which means He never changes. Hebrews 13:8, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
- And He is Veracity, which means the very essence of truth. John 14:6, “Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through Me.”
