Lesson 5: Grace Saves, Works Define Purpose (Ephesians 2)

Lesson 5: Grace Saves, Works Define Purpose (Ephesians 2)

Salvation is understood by identifying what a person is delivered from, not by presuming eternal status; thus ‘she will be saved through childbearing’ (1 Timothy 2:15) points to the promised seed that defeats the serpent, and younger widows are urged to marry, bear children, and manage households (1 Timothy 5:11-14) to avoid idleness. Believers must diligently add virtues such as faith, knowledge, and love (2 Peter 1) so that their calling and election become sure, grounding their identity in the grace-given position of being alive, raised, and seated with Christ.
