Lesson 6: Guarding the Heart with Godly Peace (Philippians 4)

A sanctified mind is secured through unity in Christ, not uniform agreement, and is sustained by continual prayer, thanksgiving, and the command to be anxious for nothing, which yields God’s peace that guards the heart and mind (Philippians 4:4-7). By fixing thoughts on what is true, noble, pure, and lovely, believers cultivate contentment independent of circumstances, trusting God’s provision and the strength of Christ (Philippians 4:8-9, Romans 5:1).
