The Scripture makes it very clear that as we focus on purity we experience power from above. Paul stressed this in his final letter to his understudy Timothy. “Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter [i.e., “iniquity”], he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work” (2Ti 2:21). How? The process is simple: God the Father works through the Son. The Son works through the Holy Spirit. The Spirit works through the Word. The Word works through the believer. The believer works through living faith.

Psalm 18 -- Jesus is God's Deliverer

Psalm 18 -- Jesus is God's Deliverer

God moves heaven and earth; it groans waiting for the Kingdom -- the 2nd advent of Jesus Christ (Psa 18:7-15, Rom 8:19-23). When sin is judged and it's reign over creation, the creation will rejoice (Psa 98:8-9, Isa 55:12, 1Ch 16:33). David expresses praise for God's deliverance; it applies to delivering power to Christ on the cross (Psa 18:16-19). Abundant resources are available to the church age believer are the same Jesus Christ had - resurrection power (Eph 1:16-23, Rom 6:4). The way God deals with David is because of the way David dealt with God (Psa 18:20-24). God rewards faith and obedience - "because of the cleanness of my hands.". Righteous is imputed before imparted. David turned from his sin (Psa 18:23, Heb 12:1). Walking in the word and Spirit is necessary to avoid entangling sins; Restoration to fellowship upon failures (Gal 5:16, 1Jo 1:7, 1Jo 1:9, Psa 51:1-19); God rewards this faithfulness (1Pe 3:8-12). God's Justice exposes man's soul - mercy, righteousness, deception, shrewdness (Psa 18:25-27, Mat 5:7) God is gracious to the humble but brings down the arrogant (Jam 3:12, Jam 4:6, 1Pe 5:6). God provides illumination, enablement, deliverance (Psa 18:28-30, Mat 5:16, Joh 8:12). David is vindicated by his own testimony (1Sa 26:23), by God's testimony (1Ki 14:8), and by the record of history (1Ki 11:4).
