The Gospel According to David

 Rocky Mountain Bible Conference

May 27–29, 2016

In Psalm 32 David declares, “Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity.” Paul uses this quote in Rom 4:7–8 to support three great truths of the Gospel:
(1) Justification is by faith in Christ alone;
(2) God imputes His righteousness to those who believe the Gospel; and
(3) This righteous standing before God is apart from works of any kind.

PowerOfPraise #5

Eight praise languages:

  1. Repentance (2Ch 20:3)

  2. Prayer (2Ch 20:5-12)

  3. Proclamation  (2Ch 20:14-16)

  4. Resting in faith  (2Ch 20:17-19)

  5. Obedience  (2Ch 20:20)

  6. Thanksgiving  (2Ch 20:21)

  7. Singing  (2Ch 20:22)

  8. Giving (2Ch 20:24-28)

We cannot glorify God and ourselves at the same time. We rob God of His glory. Exodus generation never learned to praise God. Joshua leads the younger generation into Jericho. Rahab trusts God, but Achan took some of the plunder. Israel's Army is struck down at AI (Jos 7:5-26). Repentance through praise is necessary (Jos 7:19). Death with repentance is better than life without it. Repentance is return to right thinking (2Co 7:9-13).
