Not by Works of Righteousness We have Done

Christ fulfills Isaiah 61, embodying the threefold Shepherd—Good, Chief, and Head—who gathers the disenfranchised, brings the living Word into every assembly, and directs worship toward the broken and oppressed. Romans 9-11 refutes false doctrines of election, showing that God’s righteous wrath against Israel’s rejection contrasts with the church’s blessed reception of unearned grace, which is accessed only by looking to Christ’s sacrificial work.
