CLICK TO WATCH VIDEO SHORT. Jesus leads the Samaritan woman at the well to the point where she says in John 4:25, “I know that the Messiah is coming, who is called Christ. When he comes, he will tell us all the things.” Jesus said to her, “The One speaking, I am.

That’s very important because if you know anything about the “I Am,” you go back to an Exodus 3:14 when Moses asked, “Who shall I say, sent me?” And the answer from the burning bush was, “You tell them that “I Am that I Am.

The great “I Am” and Jesus are one and the same. Jesus proclaimed this many times: “I am the door.” “I am the good shepherd.” “I am the way, the truth and the light.” And every time Jesus made that statement, He is proclaiming, His deity that He is God in the flesh. He’s also proclaiming what He can do, that He understands her life. He knows all about her. “You’ve had five husbands. The one you have now is not your husband.” He did it to say, “I know you. I know all about you. I know every broken heart that you’ve ever had. I know every tear than you ever cried. And I don’t hold you accountable. I simply want you to recognize that you have a choice to make.”

This is the greatest invitation. Acts 16:31 says, “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved.” Thanks be to God for the simple but sure way to eternal life.
