Fight the Good Fight #3

Fight the Good Fight #3

True teaching that is which creates change in the hearer. Until there's life chnge, there's now growth. A good conscience finds it's source in God. Paul revolutionized the concept of conscience. We have to maintain a good conscience (Psa 51:2, Joh 13:10). Things done in our own strength are dead (Heb 9:14); good works result in a good concience. Paul discusses our priesthood in chapter 2; the key verse is 1Ti 2:5 "For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus." The coronation of Jesus Christ designated Jesus a mediator -- representing men and offering acceptable sacrifices (Heb 5:1-6, 1Pe 2:4-5). The human heart in time of anquish cries for a mediator. "Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him" (Job 13:15). "Nor is there any mediator between us, Who may lay his hand on us both" (Job 19:32). Prayer is one of the most important disciplines to master in life.  "Oh, that my words were written! Oh, that they were inscribed in a book! That they were engraved on a rock With an iron pen and lead, forever! For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth; 19:26 And after my skin is destroyed, this I know, That in my flesh I shall see God" (Job 19:23-25). (1) All of us are ambasadors for Christ (2Co 5:14-21); (2) We are all priests (1Pe 2:5-9); (3) We are ministers to build up the body of Christ (1Co 12:7).
