Malachi Session 2

Malachi Session 2

The eagle in the Presidential Seal is a biblical analogy to God who has protected Israel beneath His wings. The right claw holds the olive branch and left the arrows, showing a desire for peace, but a willingness to fight for it. "E Pluribus Unim" means "out of many, one", the body of Christ. As for the nation our response to God should be one. The heart of Malachi is in the first five verses (Mal 1:1-5). Though Israel's hard-heartedness and rebellion against God's Love (throughout their history), He promises it'll be heard around the world (Mal 1:5). The first time "love" is used is the story of Abraham sacrificing Issaac, forshadowing Jesus Christ's sacrifice. The greatest limitation of Love in the Bible is that it can only be found in the person Jesus Christ (Joh 14:6).

With the completion of the Old Testament, there had to be someone to interpret. This gave raise to the Pharisees and Saducees. God's Love is displayed by: (1) His revealed Word (2Ti 3:16); (2) by sending messages (Luk 19:10); (3) by His finished work (Joh 19:30); (4) by the certainty of His prophecy (2Pe 1:16-17); (5) by the cross of Jesus Christ (Joh 3:16, 1Jo 3:16).
