The Scripture makes it very clear that as we focus on purity we experience power from above. Paul stressed this in his final letter to his understudy Timothy. “Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter [i.e., “iniquity”], he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work” (2Ti 2:21). How? The process is simple: God the Father works through the Son. The Son works through the Holy Spirit. The Spirit works through the Word. The Word works through the believer. The believer works through living faith.

Sanctification 2

Romans 8 - Sanctification - Tecumseh Kansas 2009

The result of the walking in the Spirit is that we fulfill the righteous requirements of the Law (Rom 8:4, Gal 5:16). Believers who live according to the flesh because they set their minds on the flesh (Rom 8:5-7). It's our decision to walk according to the Spirit or the flesh, depending upon what we set our minds. The quickness of walking in the Spirit then the flesh is Peter at Cesarea Phillipi (Mat 16:13-23). 7 "ifs" setup a tight argument (Rom 8:9-17) As soon as we set our minds on the things of the Spirit we'll walk in newness of life. However, death starts immediately when we sin. Jesus' spiritual life is the Holy Spirit. The work of the Spirit sets up free from the practice of sin and death (Rom 8:12-17). Four secrets of evangelism: 1) obligation; 2) impartiality; 3) preparation; 4) not ashamed. The Spirit of God will not do what you don't choose to do.
