What does God want to do today in your life and mine? 2nd Peter 1:5, “But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.” There you have it, the eight stepping stones of spiritual life.
Peter gives us a systematic progression from the moment of salvation to the end of our lives. You know what the key is? It’s something only you can supply. Diligence. You already have faith. If you’re a child of God, you have faith. The question is, do you have diligence? Diligence means strong motivation. There’s something that only we can supply with all that Christ has already done for us. With all that God the Father is trying to accomplish in our life. We have to supply this one thing, and it’s the key here and that is diligence.
