These lessons were presented May 23–24, 2014 at the Rocky Mountain Bible Conference in Denver, Colorado. At this conference, Gene teaches on passages from the book of Hebrews including the following subjects:
►  Hope as an “anchor of the soul”
►  Eternal security
►  “Pressing on to maturity”
►  Baptism
►  Christ as the perfect sacrifice
►  Process of “falling away” (to include the sin unto death)
►  Priesthood, ambassadorship, and ministry of the individual believer
The key verse for the conference is Heb 6:18–20:
“That by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation,
we who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: which hope we have as an anchor of the soul,
both sure and steadfast, and which enters within the veil; where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, even Jesus,
having become a High Priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.”

Ezekiel #27

Ezekiel #27

Building the wall while defending against enemies, Nehemiah has application to spiritual warfare today (Neh 4:10-20). When the Jews rejected Jeremiah and Ezekiel, the population was scattered and city destroyed. God calls this "a fire that consumes". The nation was corrupt top to bottom (Eze 22:29-31). True prophets focused on the word of God, but constantly battled against false prophets. Ezekiel was called to rail against the "murder" of the day, namely slander and maligning (Eze 22:1-5). Righteous judgment only comes from God (Jam 4:11). There was scorn and  contempt because of the meager resources to rebuild the wall (Neh 2:17-20). Gates of the city stand as a spiritual guide to us (1) Valley Gate stands for humility (Neh 3:13, 1Pe 5:6, Phi 2:3-5). (2) Dung Gate is a picture of cleansing and confession (Neh 3:14, 1Jo 1:9). (3) Fountain Gate is a picture of the ministry of the Spirit of God in the believers life (Neh 3:15, Joh 7:37). (4) Water Gate refers to the Word of God (Neh 3:26, Eph 5:26, Joh 3:5). (5) Horse Gate is a picture of spiritual warfare and readiness for it (Neh 3:28, Joh 14:21-23, Eph 6:10-18). (6) East Gate will be used when the Lord's returns at His Second Coming (Neh 3:29, Eze 43:1-5). Our focus changes to the Lord's return (2Ti 4:7-8). (7) "Miphkad Gate" is the review gate (Neh 3:31, 1Co 2:16) which anticipates our evaluation at the Judgment Seat of Christ (1Co 3:11-15) (8) The Sheep Gate reminds us of our position and security with Christ, the Shepherd (Neh 3:1, Joh 1:29). God was looking for someone to listen to the Ezekiel's message (Eze 22:30). There was a conspiracy in false teaching (Eze 22:23-29). The end result was destruction (Eze 22:31, Eze 22:13-16). God looked for someone to stand in the gap by responding to His word (Jer 5:1, Jer 15:1). Today He is looking as well; are you that person?
