These lessons were presented May 23–24, 2014 at the Rocky Mountain Bible Conference in Denver, Colorado. At this conference, Gene teaches on passages from the book of Hebrews including the following subjects:
►  Hope as an “anchor of the soul”
►  Eternal security
►  “Pressing on to maturity”
►  Baptism
►  Christ as the perfect sacrifice
►  Process of “falling away” (to include the sin unto death)
►  Priesthood, ambassadorship, and ministry of the individual believer
The key verse for the conference is Heb 6:18–20:
“That by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation,
we who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: which hope we have as an anchor of the soul,
both sure and steadfast, and which enters within the veil; where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, even Jesus,
having become a High Priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.”

Titus #7

Titus #7

Titus was authority oriented and sent to Crete because of issues there (Tit 1:5, Tit 1:10-13). The pastor's primary task is to teach the word (Tit 1:9). "vain talkers" refers to speaking without content (1Ti 1:6-7). "Deceivers" lead the mind away from the Bible. Examples of people that illustrate Cretians (Num 16:1-50, Jud 1:11, Jer 5:30-31, Jer 20:11, Phi 3:18-19). Deceivers don't accept authority (2Jo 1:7-11, 3Jo 1:9-11). Spiritual authority is unlike others; not like a father or coach or military officer or policeman. Discipline is simply turned over to God. The Word is actually the authority. What do you do with Cretians? "Reprove them severely, that they may be sound in the faith" (Tit 1:13).
