These lessons were presented May 23–24, 2014 at the Rocky Mountain Bible Conference in Denver, Colorado. At this conference, Gene teaches on passages from the book of Hebrews including the following subjects:
►  Hope as an “anchor of the soul”
►  Eternal security
►  “Pressing on to maturity”
►  Baptism
►  Christ as the perfect sacrifice
►  Process of “falling away” (to include the sin unto death)
►  Priesthood, ambassadorship, and ministry of the individual believer
The key verse for the conference is Heb 6:18–20:
“That by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation,
we who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: which hope we have as an anchor of the soul,
both sure and steadfast, and which enters within the veil; where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, even Jesus,
having become a High Priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.”

Colossians Lesson 16

Colossians Lesson 16

In Christ; we are more than conquerors; we are children of the King for eternity; we are free and stand in Grace; Satan has been defeated (Col 2:15). However; we can 'fall from Grace (Gal 5:4)' through religiosity. Modern church has lost its connection to The Head; Christ (Col 2:19).'Religious reversionism' starts with criticism; judging (Col 2:16) and peer pressure (Col 2:18). Paul preached against it in Gal 2:1-5 (Rom 14:5) emphasizing freedom (Gal 5:1-5) but fell prey to it in Act 15:1-2; and Act 21:15-26.

Paul never met the Colossians but wrote to them from a Roman prison around 62 AD to counter misconceptions of his day. It magnifies the character of Jesus Christ more than any other book in the New Testament, and counters misconceptions of our day as well. The key verse may well be Col 1:18 "...that in all things, He might have preeminence."
