Romans Chapter 8 states that because of the finished work of Christ, the believer is free from all condemnation (Rom 8:1–11). It then says that by means of the continuing work of the Spirit, the believer is free from the dominion of sin (Rom 8:12–27). It concludes that on the basis of God’s sovereign and eternal plan, the believer is free as a result of the defeat of sin (Rom 8:28–39). This book was originally a set of notes given out at the October 2009 Kansas Conference.

Upper Room Discourse #2

Upper Room Discourse #2

Joh 13:1-3 what we know determines what we do. Joh 13:4-17 Jesus knew that disciples were out of fellowship (soul's were "dirty") cleansing was necessary, so washed their feet to teach them. He waited for Peter's permission (Joh 13:8). Attitude (pride or humble) --> Priority (spiritual or earthly) --> Decision (wise or foolish) --> Action (good or evil) --> Consequences (blessing or cursing). If you know and then do the things you are blessed (Joh 13:12-17). John reflects on fellowship and the upper room in 1Jo 1:5-10. We are self-deceived (1Jo 1:8). We need to be humble to realize we need His power (1Jo 1:9, Rom 7:24-25). When we humble ourselves His advocacy covers us (1Jo 2:1-2).
