Romans Chapter 8 states that because of the finished work of Christ, the believer is free from all condemnation (Rom 8:1–11). It then says that by means of the continuing work of the Spirit, the believer is free from the dominion of sin (Rom 8:12–27). It concludes that on the basis of God’s sovereign and eternal plan, the believer is free as a result of the defeat of sin (Rom 8:28–39). This book was originally a set of notes given out at the October 2009 Kansas Conference.

Ephesians #28

Ephesians #28

There are only two states you can have - alive and dead - we are born again (1Co 15:22, 2Co 5:17, Tit 3:5). We were transfered out of darkness (Col 1:13). We cause grief to the Spirit of God when we sin (Eph 4:30, Eph 4:25). Believer must decide to lay aside former conduct. Out of a desire to please we often lie. To other members of the body we need to speak the truth (Eph 4:25). We can walk in the darkness or the light (1Jn 1:3-10). Anger, even righteous indignation, should be cut short. Stealing needs to turn to giving. Forgiveness is the cure for bitterness. These thing grieve the Spirit.
