Life of Moses #21

Why do we do what we do? The love of Christ compells us" (2Co 5:14). What do we do? God has a purpose or function for us to do. Moses prays to God to ask He forgive the people and offers himself as a sacrifice (Exo 32:32, Psa 103:7). Moses realizes the loneliness of walking with God (Exo 33:13-14). The presence of God was Moses comfort - " My presence will go with you and give you rest". In order to draw near to God, we have to daily confess our sins (Jam 4:8, 1Jo 1:9). From confession, we move to to obedience (1Jo 1:7) - make decisions based on God's word. We then need to surrender to the Spirit of God (Gal 5:16, Rom 6:13). Moses learned the value of long-suffering (Exo 34:8-9). The Lord taught this to him (Exo 34:6). The tabernacle was a picture of Christ. It had one way in, a laver to wash, a light, bread, a vail, incense, the ark overlayed with gold and a mercy seat. Materials for the tabernacle was voluntary (Exo 35:1-10, Exo 35:21-22). God is teaching Moses that when you deal with them in mercy and grace, you bring them further than when you deal with them in judgement and harshness (Exo 36:5-7). Jesu trusted in God's word (Isa 41:10). God is Omnipresent; He is present for our blessing. God is Omnipotent; we are at the end of our rope in many situations. God is Omniscient; He knows the answer to our problems. " I'll uphold you with my Righteous right hand "- Christ believed Isa 41:10 and sat down at the Father's right hand (Psa 110:1).
