Living Sacrifice 11
Shall we abide under the old sin nature? (Rom 6:1-14). It's imposible to live in sin -- we are dead to it -- now that we've been separated from it (Rom 6:2-3). We are identified in Christ's death, burial, and resurrection (Rom 6:4-5). We've been "engrafted" ("planted together in the likeness of His death") with Jesus Christ (Rom 6:5). (1) "Knowing" our sin nature has been rendered powerless (Heb 2:14); he who is dead is free; the inability to operate (Rom 6:6-10, Rom 4:3); (2) "Reckon" -- consider it a fact and act as if dead to sin and alive to God (Rom 6:11, 1Th 4:3); (3) Present "Present yourself to God as those alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord (Rom 6:12-13, Gal 2:20);
