“And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the river, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” Jos 24:15

Ephesians #24

Ephesians #24

In Eph 4:11-16, Paul emphasizes spiritual growth and that we benefit from others' gifts in that way. 70 A.D. Jerusalem was destroyed including the Temple. 96 A.D the scripture was complete. Prior to that Prophets and Apostles had direct revelation from God; Pastor-Teacher and Evangelist have replaced them with the purpose of equipping the saints for the work of serving (1Pe 4:10-11).
