Habakkuk – The Just Shall Live By Faith – 2010 – Orange County, CA
The prophet grapples with the “mysteries of Providence,” and the age-old dilemma of reconciling the presence of evil with the existence of a good and all-powerful God. This is called “theodicy,” the “vindication of the justice and goodness of God in spite of the existence of evil in the world” (Webster’s Dictionary). Habakkuk clearly declares that the ultimate resolution of the dilemma is found only by a living faith (Hab 2:4) in a loving God (Hab 3:13).
This book contains the notes from the Orange County, California Bible conference held in August 2010.

We have a unique standing with God that we share with His Son . Positional truth -- to be His brethren and of one another -- (1Co 15:22, Col 1:13, Rom 5:1-2, Rom 8:1). We are God's children (1Jo 3:1-3, Joh 1:12). God designed man to rule creation -- Jesus came to do that -- perfect human and God (Heb 2:6-11). We must will to do His will (Jam 4:7-11). Our value is the price that He paid. When Jesus comes "we shall be like Him"; Jesus is not ashamed of us because what we are about ready to become.
Romans 12 and specifically Rom 12:1-2 is a pivot point between the doctrinal section and application of the book. This series methodically uses this passage to outline aspects or doctrines of the christian life -- God's provision and our prospect. Our lives can be acceptable to God if we progress on the path He intends. Living Sacrifice presents 12 doctrines: (1) redeeming time; (2) standing (positional truth); (3) self-presentation - availability; (4) approval; (5) service; (6) provision; (7) spiritual warfare; (8) conformity; (9) spiritual advance; (10) renewal; (11) divine guidance; (12) abundant life.
