IOWA Bible Conference 24 – 26 August, 2018

In Daniel chapter 3, King Nebuchadnezzar order that all people should bow down and worship the golden statue when they heard the sound of the music, failure to do so would result in being cast into the fiery furnace. As far as he could see the people were obeying this command. In 3:12 King Nebuchadnezzar was made aware that three Hebrew men had refused to bow down to this image. Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego, had refused to follow others gods or images. They were immediately brought before the King to explain why the refused to worship the statue.
Daniel 3:17-18 says “Upon this, the three men stated that if they were to be thrown into the fiery furnace, “Our God, the God that we serve is able to deliver us not only from the furnace, but from your hand. BUT IF NOT, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image that you have set up.”
These passages of Scripture cause us to ask… “Who is the God in whom I say I follow and serve?”
