“Cry … ‘Abba, Father'”

Learning to Live in the Spirit of Adoption
“For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, ‘Abba, Father.'”
Romans 8:15
This study of spiritual adoption will hold many surprises for us. Not only is God the Father treated slightly in most works on theology, but the concept of sonship by spiritual adoption is scarcely understood.
Because of the biblical meaning of the term “adoption,” our study is forced to take a practical approach to the relationship of the believer to the heavenly Father. This approach is demanded by each of the passages in which the phrase “Abba, Father” is found.

Time To Endure 8

Jam 1:12 "Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him". Rom 15:1 Those of us who are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak. "Blessed be God our Father" calls us to praise God (2Co 1:3-7, 1Pe 1:3). Why does God let us get into trials? To receive His comfort then to comfort . What do we need to do when we find ourselves in suffering? 1) know Him; draw near to Him; 2) comfort someone else (1Pe 2:5-9); 3) expect equivalence — the greater the test the greater the comfort; 4) build your ministry on that comfort to others. Paul suffered but endured (2Co 11:24-33, 2Co 12:1-9).
