Dear Fellow Soldiers in Christ,

These acts of evil are not occurring by accident. They are the product of intentional hostility toward all that is true and good. They are the work of many in leadership positions throughout our country who, like Ahab, have sold themselves to do the devil’s work (1 Kings 21:25). All the while that the devil used people in positions of leadership, and a compliant media, to plant the seeds of hate and violent opposition to the truth, far too many Christians have been absent from the field of battle. The only bulwark against the flood of evil we are witnessing is a vibrant and vocal Body of Christ that is unflinching and unafraid to stand firm and speak out for the cause of Christ.
Once again, we have witnessed the manifestation of the truly demonic evil that has been unleashed on America. The brutal murder of Iryna Zarutska on a train in Charlotte, N.C. and the assassination of Charlie Kirk both show in stark terms the guiding hand of the enemy of our Lord and of our souls. Jesus spoke of the devil as a murderer and a liar from the beginning (John 8:44). Now, we are increasingly seeing those who hate and resist the truth turning to violent attacks on any and all who, like Iryna, try to flee from the brutality of senseless war, or like Charlie Kirk, who know and speak the power of truth.
Charlie Kirk was an unapologetic witness to our Lord Jesus Christ. He also believed that truth alone has the power to overcome the lies of the evil one. He gave his life to prove his conviction. We ought to rejoice that he ran his race strong to the finish and is now blessed and rejoicing in the presence of the Savior he loved and served (Hebrews 12:1–3; 2 Corinthians 5:7–9).
Let us all join together in prayer for his grieving wife Erika and their two young children, that they will know the comfort and healing power of the Spirit of God, and the love and support of His people. May this tragic and evil event, known unto God from eternity past, be a wakeup call to a sleeping and apathetic Church. May we all be challenged to greater devotion, deeper purity, and bolder faith, and a greater commitment to “fight the good fight” in our own arena.
“Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to
withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand”
Ephesians 6:13 (kjv)
