This study on Biblical Chivalry was presented at the April 2010 BTBM Conference held in Phoenix, Arizona. Gene teaches how we need—in these dark and perilous days—to awaken from our spiritual slumber, to break free of the shackles of earthly pursuits and possessions, and answer the timeless call into the fellowship of knights-in-training!

Ezekiel #26

Ezekiel #26

God says He'll cut off both righteous and unrighteous, the righteous by captivity, the unrighteous by the sword (Eze 21:1-4). Nebuchadnezzar becomes he sword of vengeance in the hand of God (Eze 21:8-24). God wants mankind to know He is judging His people (Eze 21:5). Zedekiah is called profane having broken a commitment to God (Eze 21:25-27, 2Ch 36:11-26). "Overthrown" three times is a play on words — the difference being a dot — that word meaning "perverted" (Mat 5:18).  Hosea prophesies that no king will be on the throne until Christ, the Messiah, returns (Hos 3:4) Jerusalem will be overthrone the third time (Rev 16:18-21). "He" is the "Seed of the woman" (Gen 3:15), "Seed of Abraham" (Gen 22:18, Gal 3:16) and the "Seed of Judah" (Gen 49:10-11). Messiah is "He" (Psa 2:7, Psa 110:1), the "the Root and Offspring of David". Over 330 prophesies were literally fulfilled. They knew the method — virgin birth (Gen 3:15, Isa 7:14), the time of His coming (Dan 9:24-26), the place of His coming (Mic 5:2), the reason of His coming (Isa 53:6), and the sign of His coming (Num 24:17). Jesus rebuked His generation (Luk 19:44), and tells of the destruction because they didn't know the "time of their visitation" (Zep 2:7). Feasts taught the Jews: Passover taught the coming cross (1Co 5:7, Joh 1:29); Unleavened Bread taught removal or cleansing from sin; First Fruits taught resurrection of Jesus Christ (1Co 15:1-58); Pentecost taught a great harvest (1Co 14:21-22); Trumpets taught the gathering of Israel and rapture; Atonement taught the sealing of the 144,000 and redemption; Tabernacles taught the abiding of the King of Kings. 2nd Coming: We have a promise that Jesus will return (Joh 14:3, Act 1:11); We have a time factor for His return — "fig tree will blossom" (Mat 24:32-40). We know the conditions for His return (Mat 24:4-8, Zec 12:2-3). We know the manner of His coming (1Th 4:13-18, 1Th 5:1-10, 2Th 2:1-12). We have warnings regarding our readiness (Mat 24:46, Tit 2:13, 2Ti 4:8, Luk 21:34)
