This study on Biblical Chivalry was presented at the April 2010 BTBM Conference held in Phoenix, Arizona. Gene teaches how we need—in these dark and perilous days—to awaken from our spiritual slumber, to break free of the shackles of earthly pursuits and possessions, and answer the timeless call into the fellowship of knights-in-training!

Psalm 10 - Cry of Desolation

Psalm 10 - Cry of Desolation

When it seems God has forgotten us, Psa 10:1-18 is a prayer. Psalm 10 could represent the Tribulation saints praying prophetically. Psalm 10 Outline: (1) The cry of desolation Psa 10:1-2; (2) The character and craft of the wicked (Psa 10:3-11); (3) The assurance of God's Justice (Psa 10:12-18). It seems the wicked consume the righteous (Psa 10:2). It's easy to complain (Psa 10:1). Paul equates suffering to being in Christ (Phi 3:10). The Antichrist is characterized by the wicked (Psa 10:3-11, 2Th 2:8, 1Jo 4:4, Dan 11:32-35). The wicked boasts of what they're going to do (Psa 10:3, Jam 4:15-16). The wicked is arrogant and disregards the presence of God (Psa 10:4, Pro 16:18). A wicked man's successes make him contemptible (Psa 10:5). The wicked man believes he is not accountable (Psa 10:5-6) and assumes he'll be happy. The wicked tongue is iniquity (Rom 3:10-18). He is ruthless and reflects Satan (Psa 10:8-10, Joh 8:44, 1Pe 5:8). He acknowledges God but considers Him impotent (Psa 10:11-13, 1Ti 4:2). God will deal with wickedness (Psa 10:14-18, Rom 12:19). Who God is by nature tells us what He'll do (Psa 10:14-15). God is the Helper of the helpless (Psa 31:5, Job 13:15). God will do justice (Psa 10:16-18). Desolation: (1) intensive affliction (Psa 143:3-4) (2) Desolation for the believer is never the end (Psa 34:21-22); (3) Never forget our Redeemer has been made desolate for us (Isa 53:3-8); (4) Sarah is the example for believers when they feel forsaken (Gal 4:27); (5) God makes our desolate times monuments of His everlasting Grace and Mercy (Isa 54:1-17).
