IN THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE KING

A Study in 2nd and 3rd John
In the epistles of John we see a common theme of a fellowship shared by believers and the Lord. This fellowship is forged in conflict, against dark and sinister forces, as faith is tested and refined. The touchstone of the fellowship is found in the truth, and that truth centers in the glorious person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ. To hold to this truth against all odds, all deception, and all temptation is to win a place among the ranks of those who value the fellowship of the King. It is an old story.

This compilation of notes represents the truths found in the Epistles of Second and Third John.

Psalm 1 (Part 4) - Doctrine of Righteous Man

Psalm 1 (Part 4) - Doctrine of Righteous Man

Psa 1:1-6 The blessed man is righteous. (1) Blessed man is holy completely, utterly righteous - never violated the law of God. (2) Jesus Christ is the Blessed Man. (3) Jesus made it clear that blessing comes by trusting and following Him. Blessing comes through Him - no effort nor merit (Mat 5:3-12). If Jesus alone is the Blessed man - why? (a) The first man declared righteousness is Noah (Gen 7:1, Rom 6:23, Eph 2:8-9, Gen 15:6). Noah "found Grace" by faith and attain righteousness (Heb 11:6). (b) no natural man is righteous in himself (Rom 3:10, Psa 14:1-3, Isa 53:6). (c) all human righteousness the Bible declares as unrighteous (Isa 64:6). (d) How many sins does it take to be unrighteous? One (Rom 5:12, Jam 2:10-11). (e) The only way to righteousness is faith in Christ. (Rom 1:16-17, Rom 3:21-22, Rom 4:3-5, Rom 4:23). Every man is potentially saved via Christ on the cross (2Co 5:19, 1Jo 5:12, Joh 1:12). (4) We enter this blessedness when we believe in Christ. In union with Christ is all blessing (Eph 1:3). (5) Righteousness imputed gives us inner peace and blessing (Rom 5:1). (6) Jesus is called "...righteous branch of David..." (Jer 23:5). (7) For Jesus to impart righteousness to us, He had to pay the price. Eternity for us was so valuable that the cost was the blood of Jesus Christ (Jam 5:6).
