John’s primary PURPOSE is that believers will enter and maintain fellowship with God, with the RESULT of inner joy.
His secondary PURPOSE is to give believers ASSURANCE of their salvation, with the RESULT that they will continue to live by faith.

“That which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. And these things we write to you that our joy may be full … These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may [continue to] believe in the name of the Son of God.” 1Jo 1:3-4; 1Jo 5:13 (emphasis added)

This compilation of notes represents the truths found in the Epistle of First John.

Ezekiel #12

Ezekiel #12

God rails against false prophets (Eze 12:24). Ezekiel explains the accountability for listening to false prophets. False prophets nature is covered in Eze 13:1-7. God's true prophets came from Samuel's school of prophets -- "sons of the prophets" -- students of Samuel, Elijah, and Elisha (1Sa 10:5-11, 1Ki 20:35, 2Ki 2:3, 2Ki 4:1). Those who go astray for personal gain become false prophets. (1) They devise their own message (Eze 13:2). (2) They foolishly follow their own spirit and not God's (Eze 13:3, Col 2:18-19). (3) <I>They have seen nothing</I>" (Eze 13:3). 4) They are like jackals; they thrive on destruction and death (Eke 13:4). (5) False prophets have not been heroes (Eke 13:5). (6) Divination refers to witchcraft. They have futile vision and are rebellious (Eze 13:6, 1Sa 15:33, Deu 13:1-5) (7) They use "thus says the Lord" (Eke 13:7). (8) their message was pleasing and acceptable (Eze 13:8, Jer 6:14, Jer 8:11, 1Th 5:3). God will defend His people (Eze 13:10, 1Co 6:6). God exposes the sources of the false prophecie (Eze 13:9-16). (1) Removal from the assembly - they loose privelege on the council. (2) Thier name is removed from the role of honor. (3) They will have no inheritance. There are believers who will loose(2Ti 2:12, Rev 3:21)
