Just as accurate Bible teaching produces spiritual maturity and the ability to discern good and evil (Heb 5:14), so false or muddled teaching will lead into evil. Learn to discern by discovering the necessity and means of sharpening spiritual faculties. Listen and read as Gene teaches these truths from the Rocky Mountain Bible Conference.

Learn to Discern

Even in the darkest of time, where people are devoted to the Word of God, there can be peace and prosperity. "In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes" (Jdg 21:25). You cannot tell the difference between good and evil becuse you are spiritually blind. Evil comes under a disguise (Mat 7:15-21 -- sheep = good; wolf = evil). False teacher wears a mask, but is a hypocrite:

"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. "Therefore by their fruits you will know them. Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven" (Mat 7:15-21)

"Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!' Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall". And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. (Mat 7:22-29)

It's the leader whose fruit needs to be judged. Does the fruit line up with the appearance. (Rom 16:17-19). "Son of David" has bound Satan and is now harvesting souls for God (Mat 12:22-38). Why would a generation come to a point calling evil "good" and good "evil"? Because they have despised the Word of the Lord. Pharasees have dubbed themselves the judges of good yet they call Jesus, Satan. Grieving the Holy Spirit is sin; Queching the Holy Spirit is evil.

The basis of condemnation is unbelief (Rev 20:11). Christ died for all sin (Heb 10:17).
