Nan - A Woman's Study in Titus

Titus - The Transforming Power of Grace - Uniontown PA 2009

Older women should be more spiritual mature, so can minister to younger women (Tit 2:3-5). Doing so would be hold the Word in great esteem. "reverent in behavior" in the Greek means dressed appropriately for the temple. Anna invested her entire life of 60 years as a widow in reverence to God (Luk 2:36-38), suitable for worship. Gossip is a reflection of the devil. Wine can enslave (Tit 2:3). Women should be teaching by example, and impart what God have done in them. Older women are to teach younger women to love (Greek - phileo) friendship and compatibility. We are to dress ourselves with Jesus Christ - love (Greek - agape) for others (Tit 3:4, Rom 13:14, 2Co 5:14). We are to be dressed in good works (Eph 2:10, 1Ti 2:9-10, Rev 19:7-8). Removing weeds (sins) in the field is not the goal, but fruit is the goal. A submissive wife is excellent (Pro 12:4).
