Ephesians #49

Ephesians #49

"Stand" in Greek mean "hold your ground" comes from the Roman army -- "be empowered in the Lord" (Eph 6:10-20). We do this by yielding to the power of the Spirit (Rom 6:1-23). Putting on the "Armor of God" is the means of receiving His strength -- putting on Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, Word of God. The belt of absolute truth only comes through the word of God (2Ti 2:15). The breastplate of imputed righteousness covers our vitals is also a life of fellowship and obedience (1Jo 1:7). Sandals of the gospel of peace is firm footing (gaining skill in the defense of the gospel). Take up the shield of faith is comprised of the promises of God (Phi 4:6-7). The helmet of salvation -- the "hope (absolute conviction) of salvation" (1Th 5:8). Pick up the sword of the Spirit; it's the Spirit's sword; only God can wield it. The word - "rhema" of God is Greek for "specific utterances". Praying always with all types of prayer in the Spirit. Pray for boldness (Eph 6:19-20).
