Ephesians #19

Ephesians #19

Eph 4:11-12 Speaking gifts prepare the saints to fulfill the building up of the body. Doctrinal unity comes from believing the same thing - a unity in the faith (Phil 1:27, 1Co 1:10, Psa 133:1 Eph 4:13-16). Practical unity is more important (Neh 2:18, Neh 4:17-18, Eph 4:17-29). In Eph 4:13, "knowledge" is experiential and implemented not just mental or spiritual. Peter uses the same word and concept in 2Pe 1:1-4; without Grace (the Spirit's working), truth becomes destructive, but with Grace comes peace. The "fullness" in Eph 4:13 amplifies Eph 3:19. Luk 6:35-40 illustrates the "measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ" -- graciousness, compassion, mercy.
