Pakistan Mission Report 2007

Recently I was blessed with the opportunity to visit an amazing ministry in Pakistan. I was accompanied by my “Timothy in training”, Logan Carnell (while his wife, Desiree, was helping Nan in India at the children’s Bible programs). This was my second time in the country of Pakistan, but my first opportunity to meet and work with fellow-believers.

Our host was Pastor Sadiq and his amazing family. Their hospitality equalled anything I have experienced in my travels. Logan and I were given the only cooled room in the house, as outside temperatures rose to 125F+!  We were treated as “royal family of God”  in every way.

Each member of Pastor Sadiq’s family is involved in ministry; including schools educating approximately 200 children too poor to pay for their education, to sewing centers training young women how to earn a meagre income, to churches filled with joyful believers hungry for God’s Word.

Basic Training Bible Ministries joined with this family band of servants to host a Bible conference on “Making Disciples”, as we studied themes from the Upper Room Discourse. Bibles in the local language were also purchased and distributed to needy pastors, with the exhortation to “give them only to those who will diligently study them”. Finances for the conference and Bibles were also provided from Ken Buck of C.O.R.E. Ministries, so many were involved in the work.

The delegates to the conference were eager and receptive to the teaching, and we were told repeatedly that they daily pray for America and for our President, George W. Bush. Their faith, joy, and boldness, in the face of much hardship and difficulty was a refreshing contrast to the perpetual whining we hear so often in America!

We are determined, by God’s leading and grace, to return to these fellow members of the body of Christ, at the earliest opportunity. We ask for your prayers for their continued boldness and witness, that they will continue to shine as lights in their world.

We could not reach and minister to these saints, along with others in so many countries, without the diligent and dedicated prayer and support of so many who have joined with us to fulfill the mandate to “Make Disciples” through evangelism, edification, and equipping, through the systematic and categorical teaching of the Word of God. Only in eternity will you know the “ripple effect” of your impact to these souls. Therefore, I encourage you not to, “become weary and discouraged in your souls” (Heb.12:3b), “For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.” (Heb.6:10).  “Let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not lose heart.” (Gal.6:9). May God grant us, by His Spirit, the endurance we need to finish our race!

In closing please lift up Pastor Sadiq and his family, their many fellow-workers, teachers, and projects in your daily prayers. Join us as we pray for their safety, enablement, and the supply of their needs – and finally that Our Heavenly Father will guide us in returning to them again.

Thank you.
