Around the World in Prayer: September/October 2012

“Blessed be the Lord, because He has heard the voice of my supplication.
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him and I am helped.
Therefore, my heart exalts and with song I shall thank Him.” Psa 28:6–7

Australia
  • Thanksgiving for God’s provision! For the last three years, we have asked for prayer for Cross Road Bible Church in Perth as they pressed on in ministry without a pastor of their own. They recently called Daniel Zanich to come and lead them. Daniel is married to our daughter Katie so we are quite pleased with their decision! Daniel grew up in CRBC as he and his family attended the church from the beginning. Later, he studied at Chafer Theological Seminary in Los Angeles, excelling in the study of both Greek and Hebrew. Please pray for Daniel and Katie as they step up to this ministry, and pray for the members of CRBC to embrace and support them—that in all things Jesus Christ may be glorified!
  • Western Australia Youth Camp is coming up in early October. Please pray for the staff as they prepare for this camp and for young people to be motivated and allowed to sign up and attend.
  • We are in Australia now. Please pray for our safe travels, a rich time of fellowship with family and friends, and for teaching opportunities in Brisbane, Perth, and at the Western Australia Youth Camp.

Africa

  • Pray for Logan and Mark as they travel to Zambia and Zimbabwe to teach this month. They will be working with Pastor Happyson Mwashumputa the week of September 10 and Pastor Ken Mawire the week of September 17.
  • Please pray for Grace Mawire as she struggles with some health issues. Pray for good medical attention for her as well as spiritual and physical strength.
  • We have recently had some opportunities open up for ministry in Uganda. Please pray for God’s wisdom and guidance regarding these open doors.

India

  • Pray for PJF as he takes in a new batch of pastors for the Bible College there. He will open the sessions this month with a class in New Testament Survey. Please pray for finances for BTBM to be able to support the training of these needy pastors.

Pakistan

  • The Urdu translation of The Basics is finished, the money has been sent and we are now just waiting on the actual printing to be done! Pray for the finish of this work and for the distribution of the books to hungry souls in Pakistan.

Peru

  • Continue to pray for Julio and Betty Ceasar. Pray for the provision and opportunity to print The Basics in Peru. Also pray for Betty as she is also suffering from some difficult health problems. Pray for Julio’s teaching ministry as he starts up classes in the Bible Institute again this month.

Papua New Guinea

  • Please pray for Michael and Virginia Pijai as they are now in the USA representing the work at Ese Bible Institute in Numba. No doubt they are finding the experience of traveling from their remote mountain village in PNG to the abundance of America to be quite a shocking adventure. Pray for their adjustment to life here and for blessed fellowship and ministry. Their return trip will be in October.
  • Pray for Jaki Parlier as she works to complete her sequel to Poking Holes in the Darkness. Her next book will highlight the amazing story of God’s working with the Managalas people to provide the Ese Bible Institute.

USA

  • Continue to pray for Kurt and Sherri Johnson in her health struggles.
  • Pray for the PA conference October 26–28, 2012. Pray for Gene as he studies and prepares classes from the Book of Hosea. Pray for Ron and Susan Sepic and their conference team.

Thank you all for your joining us in prayer! God is faithful!

Gene and Nan
