“The LORD will command His lovingkindness in the daytime; and His song will be
with me in the night, a prayer to the God of my life.” Psa 42:8

This verse reminds us of the ever-present grace of God in our lives, bringing purpose to our days and songs of praise to our nights. As the God of our lives, He hears our prayers and answers according to His lovingkindness. Thank you for joining us before His throne.

To God be the glory!

“Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His godly ones.” Psa 116:15

We begin this Around the World in Prayer (“ATWIP”) with news of the promotion of Pastor Michael and Virginia’s (Numba Village, PNG) eldest son Dick to eternity. He suffered with a severe mouth cancer that took his life, but brought his soul to rest in the arms of our faithful and loving Heavenly Father. Please pray for comfort in this time of grief for Michael and Virginia, and for Dick’s wife Maureen and their two young children. Being confident of Dick’s faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, they too are trusting in the Father’s perfect plan and rejoicing that Dick’s suffering has come to an end.

Pray also for Roger Thiele as he will be traveling into Numba on October 3 to teach the next session of the Ese Bible Institute. Pray for a fruitful time of study for the EBI students, and that Roger can be an encouragement to the whole village in this time of loss.

Conferences and Courses

Please pray for the upcoming BTBM conferences:
  • Homer, Alaska—Sept 30–Oct 2
  • Topeka, Kansas—Oct 21–23
  • Uniontown, Pennsylvania—Oct 28–30
Pray for Gene’s study and preparation for these classes. Pray for the attendees to be blessed through the teaching of God’s Word.

Please pray for Nan as she will be taking a Medical Missionary Intensive Course conducted by Equip International, October 15–27. This is an intensive two-week course aimed at preparing missionaries to help with medical needs in remote areas of developing nations.

Nagaland

Please continue to pray for Throngji and his health. He still has to have a further surgery to replace a bone in his skull. Because of some complications with his healing, that surgery has been postponed until November.

Pray for Bethel Children’s Home. Throngji reports that the government is bringing them children who have been abused or deserted by their parents, but the government provides no financial help to care for such children. Pray for the healing of these children’s hearts and lives, for acceptance to the Gospel, and for financial aid to support the children.

The construction of Chessor Town Church is going along nicely, thanks to a generous donation to BTBM to construct this church. Pray for the construction to continue as they are planning a 50-year Jubilee celebration and church dedication in early December—to be held in the new church building. We have been asked to attend and to conduct pastors’ training and children’s ministry at the same time. Pray for provision and preparation for this upcoming trip.

Kihoto Bible College is back in session. Pray for the students to be richly blessed by the studies they are taking. Pray for the instructors and especially for Ato, the new principal of the school. Praise God for provision to build a staff kitchen and dorm facilities for the students. They were previously being lodged in simple thatch rooms with outhouses, but no facilities for bathing.

India

Continue to pray for PJF and his ministry. We were recently able to print 5,000 color copies of the Jesus Loves Me book in the language of his area. Pray for the distribution of these books to the beautiful, little brown-faced children of India. Praise God for gracious Sunday school children at Abundant Life Church, Uniontown, PA, whose pennies, nickels, and dimes made the printing of the book possible. Even a little child is known by what he does!

Pray for Joshua as he continues on at seminary in preparation for full-time ministry.

Additional Praise!

Money was recently given and designated to build simple, but adequate, training centers in Zimbabwe, Nepal, and Peru, and to finish construction of a church building in Lusaka, Zambia. We thank God for opening the hearts of His people to needs around the world. Continue to pray for our coworkers in these countries:
  • Julio and Betty in Peru
  • Pastor Ken Mawire in Zimbabwe
  • Redemption Evangelistic Ministries in Zambia
  • Pastor Peter and Prema in Nepal, and their orphans
Additional Needs

Please pray for Perry and Mandy Rahrer. She is now dealing with a recurrence of cancer.

Please continue to pray for Kurt and Sheri Johnson. The ladies at the Arizona conference were blessed to hear Sheri share her pearls of wisdom in person. Doors are now opening for her to have a ministry of encouragement and edification in churches and ladies’ groups. Please pray for strength and wisdom for their ministry.

BTBM sends out a lot of The Basics and other books to churches, Bible study groups and individuals—both here in the USA and abroad. Please pray for provision to reprint them, as our supply of many of these books is getting quite low.

A recent addition to the books available from BTBM is Nan’s study from Proverbs 31. Eshet Chayil, Woman of Honor is now available in book form to those of you who might be interested.

With thankful hearts,
Gene and Nan
